Error: Failed to initialize openGL view

      Hello,


      When trying to open an HFSS file on one of our servers using a remote graphical session, I get the following error:



      Failed to initialize openGL view


      Please verify that the proper OpenGL libraries are installed and available for use. Minimum requirements for OpenGL are listed in the Online Help.



      This is affecting many of my users.


       


      I'm running HFSS 19.2 on RHEL 7.6 x86_64.


      My graphics card is Matrox Electronics Systems Ltd. G200eR2 (rev 01). I'm trying to use MESA graphics, if possible.


      Any help that you can provide is appreciated.

      Hi jwedgeco,


      Unfortunately that card does not a supported card as is does not have all the needed hardware features to support the needs of HFSS.


      The only option I can offer is to try a combination of the following two environment variables:


       export LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1


       export LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1


       


      If that does not help, you will need to install a supported graphics card.  Please see the following document:

      Additionally make sure you are using a remote platform with hardware acceleration as specified here:

      Hi Jake,


       


      I was able to fix the OpenGL error by installing a graphics card and configuring VirtualGL with FastX.

      Yes, I'm all set. There is nothing more that Ansys can help with at the moment.
