SubscriberDear Users,Â
Im trying to create an erosion study using stainless steel. However, i cant change the solid material to steel from aluminum. I keep getting this message below whenever i try to delete aluminium.
Â
Error: delete-material: still in use by wall-fluid.
Error Object: aluminumÂ
Â
Does anyone know how to change the wall fluid ?

Forum ModeratorThe erosion models use parameters in the Wall > DPM tab, so the material doesn't really matter unless you also have heat transfer. You need to add another solid material and change the wall material: you can't delete a material that's being used (hence the error).Â

SubscriberThank you very much for the explanation. I did try adding other solid materials before deleting aluminum but it didnt work. However, since the erosion models use the parameters in the dpm tab, is changing the density of aluminum in the material properties to the density of stainless steel sufficient for modeling erosion in stainless steel pipes ?

Forum ModeratorYou also need to go into the wall and change it's material from aluminium to whatever before you can delete aluminium. Altering the properties of Al will also work, you can change the name too.Â
