Energy Error too Large

      Hi,

I'm very new to ANSYS and I'm attempting to simulate a projectile impacting an aluminium plate using the explicit dynamics solver. The simulation outputs the error 'Solver error - energy error too large' part way through the run.

From what I understand, this error is most probably down to my mesh and the lack of detail in z direction of the plate. I have tried to make the elements smaller but no matter what I do I can't seem to reduce the length of the elements through the thickness of the plate.

I've attached my workbench file in case someone requires it to find a solution.

      Thanks,

      Gus
