SubscriberHi everyone, I am modelling a quasi-static crush test of a composite structure using MAT54 (for composites) and MAT240 (for cohesive layer). However, I'm encountering an issue where the elements are not being deleted properly. They appear to stretch excessively, which is not desirable. Has anyone experienced this before, or have suggestions on how to resolve it?

Ansys EmployeeHi,
It's hard to say why this happened. Could you detail what material this part belongs to, which is causing this stretch?
Cheers,Ram

Ansys EmployeeHi
Cohesive behave ok perhaps as long as they are connected to some structural element.Based on this, what you show perhaps happens if the structural elements (say on comp. tubes) to which the cohesive element is connected to, is deleted. See the ICOH in the CONTROL_SOLID card (perhaps set to 1).
Hope this helps, otherwise provide some more information as Ram mentioned.
Thank you
Erik
