I am using a research license (Ansys 2023 R2) from the university to run a  non-linear tensile analysis on static structural. But everytime I try to run my solver using different meshing elements I run into this errror. I tried solid185 and solid 187 also, it has the same issue.

 

"The element option SOLID186 was either not ordered with this ANSYS     

 installation or the appropriate product was not selected for this      

 session."

What exact license are you using?
This error means that the license you are using does not support SOLID186

Check the Element Reference Guide for supported licenses. It will list them in the upper right.

Recently I am getting this error. I am using student version 2025 R2 of Ansys.

And for all kind of analysis I am getting this error.
