Hello All,

I have installed ANSYS ELECTRONICS DESKTOP STUDENT Version. I am getting below error while running the tool.

the licens is linked to your network adapter MAC, or to a Flexera USB dongle number, if you have one. The correct machine name hosting the licenses should be written in the license file, or it will not load to the manager - it is not securely encoded and may be changed when migrating. MAC or USB dongle number are encoded in the license cipher. Many people find it difficult to configure firewall correctly for accessing the license manager. The manual is written very badly, with incomplete and obscure description of TCP ports.

Incredible. Ansys released 2021R2 to the students, but customers are still waiting for it to be passed through distributors.

There is no need to create the ansyslmd.ini file for the Student version. Please ensure there is no ansyslmd.ini file in C:\Program Files\AnsysEM\Shared Files\Licensing. Please also make sure you do not have the environment variable ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE set on your system. The license is built into the 2021R2 Electronics Student package and doesn't require any additional settings.

Please note Ansys 2021R2 is available for customers on the Customer Portal and has been since July.

that is only for direct distribution in the USA. Abroad, ANSYS sells HFSS through vendors, and there is very long delay. Particularly, the distribution is obviously delayed until the new feature presentation. I registered for presentation on the late September, and will probably not get a download URL before that. I would say, your extortion department works more aggressively (totally inhuman and ignorant of customer history and situation) than your distribution offices and local support; it creates more problems than there is desire to deal with ANSYS.
