E field written to a register file is empty

I am trying to export the E-field quantity of a simulation by writing it to a .reg file. However, after checking the file, it shows that the elements are empty. Why does this happen and how can I make it not empty?

      Hello Coleen,

You can export out the E field values from Maxwell in the form of a .fld file. You can make use of the field calculator for the same. Please follow the below steps to extract the same.

      Open field calcualtor

      Input> Quantity >E

Input>Geometry>Select the goemetry where the field has to be exported

      Output>Value

Output >Write >Sale the .fld file

The saved fld file can be imported into an excel for further postprocessing.

      Hi Reshmi,

I tried writing the fields quantity to a .fld file. When I imported it in excel, it also showed empty elements. Though when I also put the geometry before saving to a file, it gives me a value.
