SubscriberHello everyone,
In Ansys, how do you simulate an overhead conductor exposed to a sinusoidal load? How will the tension force of the cable be considered if all displacement and rotation at the two ends of the line are blocked, as described in the reference attached? In the reference, the software Code Aster is used, and I want to the same simulation using ansys.
thank you

SubscriberThank you, @peteroznewman. In the second and their paragraphs of the methodology section, I don't know how I can incorporate the time integration schemein ANSYS and the amplitude of the force. I'd love it if you could explain in detail how to handle it in ANSYS.

SubscriberWhich analysis system should i use in this case? ls dynamic or transient system
thank you

SubscriberYou would use Transient Structural to perform nonlinear transient dynamics simulations. This uses a time integration scheme to integrate the equations of motion of the system.
Take some of the free courses available to get an introduction to dynamics in ANSYS. You should do a linear Modal analysis first to check if it is vibrating as you expected.

You should do a linear Harmonic Response to see the effect of the sinusoidal force.

Then you can get into Transient Structural analysis where nonlinear effects can be incorporated.
