Drying of the surface of a solid

Hi, I am new to Fluent. I want to do a moisture removal from the surface of a solid. So, I would like to ask about, how to model moisture content on a solid surface? And is it possible to solve a drying simulation without using UDF?

That would be much appreciated if anyone could help.

      Tung.

Is the solid porous or are you just evaporating a surface layer of liquid? There are various approaches, read up on the multiphase models and wall films in Fluent. Then explain the problem in more detail.

Yes Rob, I'm trying to evaporate a surface layer of liquid, something like free water surface. I have read some research papers and I understand that UDF can be used in drying simulation. But most of them did drying of a porous material. So I'm wondering if I can just do it without UDF to simulate drying of a surface layer of liquid.

You may be able to avoid using a UDF, have a look at the Eulerian Wall Film.
