SubscriberHello.
I would like confirmation of the definition of drop height.
when I simulate the impact of a rigid body on a flexible body, what does the value correspond to Drop Height?
Does 400mm, for example, correspond to the distance I have between the impact surface and the centre of gravity of my rigid body?
Thank in advance for your answer.
Philippe.

Ansys EmployeeHi Philippe,
The "Drop Height" is used to specify the velocity of the object at impact using sqrt(2*g*h).
You do not need to model the object travelling to reach the impact surface. Just configurate your object to touch the impact surface at time zero and then specify the distance that the center of gravity of the object travelled to reach that configuration using Drop Height under Initial Conditions. -
