DPM iteration freezes

  Hello,
  
  I run a VOF and DMP/DEM simulation of particle sedimentation. I inject particles with the fluid in a tank filled with air.
  
  For unknown to me reason my simulation freezes at: "DPM Iteration ...." message. Even when left for 12 hours nothing changes. It happens at different times into the simulation. I tried two options for particles: DPM and DEM, both freeze randomly.
  
  I run parallel simulation in Fluent 15.0.
  
  Had anyone faced the same issue? What could be the problem?

  First test with newer version. Second try reducing number of parcels. Keep in mind particles ignore free surface.

  I did notice that particle move between free surface. That is another issue. I m looking for suitable UDF to force particle to bounce off the free surface - it was your suggestion in my other post.
  
  What kind of UDF for DPM should I write: drag, law, property? I am going through UDF manual and there is no example close to my case.
