SubscriberWhile calculating waveguide modes, you can set up an input beam (diameter, lens NA, distance from focus) and calculate the overlap & power coupling.
Does the power coupling result incorporate reflection due to index difference, if I set the refractive index of the input beam to 1?

Ansys EmployeeYes, it does consider the index difference from the mode. However, it might be not exactly the same as you do the simulation to extract the power coupling .
