Distance from Wall

      Hello Everybody,

I would like to graph the distance of single particles in relation to the zylinder wall of the extruder. By doing this I would be able to analyze if the polymer melt travels to the wall and then back down to the single screw. This would help me a great deal in proving or disproving the utility for wich the screw was designed for.

I would graph the Z position of the particle on the x-Axis and the distance from the Wall on the y-Axis.

Does anybody have any tips on how to perform such types of analysis?

      Thanks in advance

      Hi,

You can try to model it in radial cordinates and then you can plot axial direction of particle against radial and also need to track particle position with angular position.

      Thank you.

That seems like an approach that would work, could you explain a bit more how I would do that?

      Thanks :)

      Hi,

You can refer to fluent user's guide for post processing: 3.16. Exporting Data During a Transient Calculation (ansys.com)

      Hope this helps you.

      Thank you.

      Hello,

I am not using the fluent solver, do you think this will work analogous with polyflow?

      Hi,

You can refer to polyflow user's guide: 5.8. Exporting Files for Postprocessing and Additional Simulations (ansys.com)

This will help you to better understand the problem.

      Thank you.
