Disk Rotation Problem

      Dear ANSYS users ,

I am trying to simulate the dynamic of a rotating disk using Transient Structural, the disk rotate on it's center.

The rotation speed is 100 RPM. so I added a joint (Revolute) and I tried also general ( and kept rotation free on the axis Z). I added a joint because I had to visualize rotation effect.

I added also a fixed support to the center of it's rotation and tried (cylindrical support and all the others).

I had a warning that the supports are not enough + convergence issue.

The step size was 0.0001. and nothing

This disk has the folowing shape:

      Hi,
It seems that you are creating too many boundary conditions. If you have created a revolute joint, make sure its connection type is body-ground and you won't need any other support.

      I hope this helps.

        Thanks for the Reply.

When I insert just the joint. ( body ground)

It show a warning that there are no enough boundary conditions and then the simulation stop due to convergence issue

      Hi,

Can you please look into this tutorial: How to Simulate Dynamics of a Spinning Yo-yo Using Ansys Mechanical

      Thanks,

      Deepak

I took a look on it already before posting here and I checked several posts and video but to be honest I did not find any solution on it to this problem.

As mentionned ealier I tried suggestions for similar problem but not dedicated for this specifically.

Still getting the two warning ( reference convergence value are less then the threshold and the 2nd is not enough constraint. then it will stop due to failure in convergence
