The Freelancer expert in FEA and CFD that I hired recommends us to use either ANSYS Autodyn or ANSYS LS-Dyna. He has the commercial version.
I just installed the student edition but I think that only one of those two mentioned applications is included.
What are the relevant differences? Should I try to get the commercial version? I want to be able to replicate all his work.

Forum ModeratorThe difference in the Student code is simply the cell count available; but not all of the Ansys products are available in the free version. Â
If the work is commercial, you must use a commercial licence: please use the "contact us" button in ansys.com from a University/company email address.Â
If you're at a University you may need to use a Research licence: your supervisor may know how to do this. If you don't have access ask them to contact us.Â
