Hi ANSYS Community,
I am currently working on some thermal problem with UserMatTh.F. I noticed that if I the thermal conductivity is a function of temperature, the results are slightly different if I use UserMatTh or not. Is there an explanation for this ?
Best,

Hello,
Is your conductivity(T) nonlinear? If so, can you try issuing ERESX,NO before the solve for the usermatth case?

Hi, thanks for answering. The conductivity is linear. Nevertheless, I tried to use the command that you suggested but I did not found any relevent result.

Sorry, I replied to the wrong comment above. You are using the usermatth.F with no changes made to it, correct? Which version of ANSYS are you using and what is the compiler version that you have?

No problem. Yes, the difference is observe even with no changes. I'm using ANSYS 23.1, the intel Fortran compiler version is 2021.10.0.

Is this for Linux or Windows? But, in general, the compiler version you are using is unsupported for V231. Unsupported compiler versions are not gauranteed to always produce expected results.

It is for Windows. I did not found earlier versions on the intel website (and specially the one mentionned in the manual). I will transmit your answer to my superior. Thank you for answering !

If you have an Intel account and license, you should be able to get the 2019 update 5 via the Registration Center. You can go to the Downloads tab and click on "Intel Parallel Studios XE Professional Edition for Fortran and C++ Windows)", on the next screen there will be a drop-down menu where you can choose older versions. Note that if you choose the Upgrade option under the Entitlements tab, you'll no longer be able to get those older versions (you might have to submit a ticket to Intel to then locate them). Also, can you let me know which version of MS VS you are using?

Currently, I am using Visual Studio Professional 2019 version 16.11.30.

Thanks. Please note that for v231, per the Installation Guide, the supported versions for IFORT and MSVS are the following:
Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2019 Version 16.0.22 (including the MS C++ compiler), Intel C++ and Intel Visual FORTRAN 2019 Update 5 (2019.5.281)

Hi David,
I checked the versions with my superiors. The Intel compilers versions are not available anymore. -

HI Loic,
I filed a ticket with Intel and was told similar by their support team. After choosing the "Free Upgrade" option, you'll no longer have access to the older versions. Do you have formal technical support with ANSYS? If so, I would like to connect via this route to help further.
