Difference in Imported Initial Stress results

      Hi,


      I created a simple cantilever beam and applied the following Boundary Conditions:


      - Kept one end fixed


      - Applied a force on the other end


      Boundary Conditions


      I got the following stress distribution



      Now, I exported the vector principal stresses and imported it into external data. The workbench setup looks like this



      As you can see, I sent the deformed geometry from the initial static structural(K) to a new static structural(O) and also imported the stresses.


      Then in the new static structural, I was able to successfully import the stresses as you can see from here.



      Now, I applied the same boundary conditions that was applied to the earlier static structural at the last load step. 



      Now my question is that I should be getting the same stress distribution as it is from the start as the force is kept constant. But the stress distribution changes by some amount. You can see it from here.



      I am not able to understand where the mistake is happening. 


      Also for your reference, the force convergence plot looks like this.



      Why so much huge amount of forces are there in the convergence plot(of the order of 1e6)

      You got the same result within 1.5%, which is an acceptable error on this model (2020 vs 1990 MPa).
      You may get a smaller error by using smaller elements and tighter convergence tolerances.

      Hi Peter,


      I do not want to change the mesh. How do I tighten the convergence tolerances?

      Analysis Settings > Nonlinear Controls > Displacement Convergence and Force Convergence can both be changed to be 10 or 100 times smaller than the default setting.

      Hi Peter,


      I tried using tighter convergence tolerances but the solution did not change.
