This post originally contained file attachments which have been removed in compliance with the updated Ansys Learning Forum Terms & ConditionsHi, Mode explore : I'm trying to define a displacement in a local CS but I get the following message : "translational displacement must be defined with displacements in the global directions only". This message disappears if I constrain a second DOF, but this over constraints my model and this is not the BC I want. This is however a very basic thing. Did I miss something ? Please find attached a video that illustrates that

I have attached the video for your reference. Please can you try closing this session and starting new from scratch, see if it solves the issue. Regards.? December 15, 2021 at 11:43 ammarin.delacroixSubscriberHi Devendra, In your example, the local CS matches with the global CS. The behavior I got happens as soon as the selected direction does not match with a global direction. Please have a look at the attached video, as well as the model. Marin? Hi Marin DE LA CROIX
I was able to reproduce the issue in Explore mode. Refine mode does not give this error though.
Let me check and get back to you on this.

Hi Marin DE LA CROIX
Currently in explore mode, defining displacement in Local CS is not supported yet. Only those matching with global directions are supported. You have to go back calculate global coordinates.
Regards.
