I'm having trouble with the installation. The first time i tried installing, it went to completion but no shortcuts were created nor was any other step prompted. I'm guessing there was a problem with my hard drive space, as I was running low on space prior to installing. After I cleared some space I tried installing again and I've had no luck. The installation process begins and runs for 2 seconds before giving me a critical error and crashing. Because the program crashes, I can't read the error code as even the error code window crashes. Any help would be appreciated.

What is the name of the installation package you are using ?

What licenses do you have ?

Try deleting the entire ANSYS Inc folder as well as the %appdata%Ansys , then reinstall again

Can you try re-download the installation package and use that one ?

i did it but still does not work.

I read your previous suggestions and saw that the file you said does not exist.

%APPDATA%Ansysv1##ProdConfiguninstall_data.data i do not have this one.What should i do

I have the same and have reinstalled for 8 times and it doesn't work. Can someone help please?

Try downloading a new package from the website, then extract and put that in C:Temp  folder.

Please create a new thread if that doesn't help.

Hello,
I am facing trouble while installing ANSYS 20 R1 student version.
It shows critical error just after the installation starts. I have downloaded the setup 3 times and tried, but it doesn't works. Anyone please help.

Note: The command was not ported correctly when we moved to this new platform. The correct command should be
move "%appdata%ansys" "%appdata%ansys.old"

Look, I dont know what I did, but what appears to have worked for me is...:

Before it crashed, I clicked on “view detailed progress log”.

that prevented the crash. But an error window still appeared. I clicked “ok” and the installation magiacally began. It didnt worked the first time though, because the same error window appeared almost at the end of the installation process and crashed it all. The next time I repeated what I did, but decided to leave alone the computer untill it finished. And... seems to have worked

I was encountering same problem. What i did was what tsirakis wrote: delete all installation files and App Data folder. It worked for me.

Hi everyone, I got the same issues. Then I cleaned up all the related folders and files of ANSYS, like a total clean.

Then yes, before it crashed, clicked on view detailed process log. Then It worked magically.

I never thought that kind of solution will work, but it worked in my case.
