I am trying to create a model of the brain. I orginally thought to create an stl file of the whole brain. However, I could not figure out how to determine the different features of the brain within SpaceClaim so I can assign named selections or material properties. My next thought process was to create stl files of different segmentations of the morphological features needed for my analysis. I ran into issues on determining how to align those different components together within SpaceClaim. Any ideas on how to achieve this? I do not have access to any Simpleware products. I am using the open source 3D-Slicer software for generating the segmentations and stl files. Below I have attached two example stl files of what I would like to align.

Hello Joshua,
Are these components separate files that you would want to align? If they share same coordinate systems, they should directly be aligned if you import them with import geometry option. I case the origin/coordinate systems are not identical, you align them by refereces that you are aware that are commonly shared in these multiple components.Â
What would you like the named selection for? If it is for portions of the bodies (faces/facets), you can use the power select options if needed. Do let me know if this was helpful.
Regards.
