I am planning to buy a computer recently and I would like to ask which Intel or AMD CPU is better suited to allow LS-DYNA?

Hi TAI Tim,
From a consumer and budget friendly perspective, I'll go with AMD processors. They are fast, economic and efficient. So, in future, if you are doing large scale simulations and opting for MPP then you can employ as much threads as you like to solve the problem you have.
I hope that helps. Thanks.

Hello Tai Tim,
At Ansys we use both Intel and AMP chips and we cannot recommend one over the other. Both chips will work well with LS-DYNA. Try to get the fastest CPU speed for your budget.
Let me know if this helps or not.
