Hi,
I have a question/confusion related to the HEAT example https://support.lumerical.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041621694
How the heat sources are copied in each pixel? or where can i find this "copy" or "array" function?
Moreoverr, when I open an import source I can't see the link to the Pabs file however its possible to visualize the Pabs, I am confused how its possible?
May 17, 2022 at 9:39 pmkghaffariAnsys EmployeeHi To multiply a source you can simply use the copy command. You can input the desired shift in position for the new object (dx, dy, or dz) as an argument; so here this should match the distance between pixels.
Here, the imported data is stored in the Heat Source object, but the file itself and its directory is missing; this shouldnÔÇÖt cause any issues. One you run the optical simulation again the absorption profile and associated file will be generated again. You may decide to import this file again.
Best regards
May 19, 2022 at 8:07 amferruccio.pisanelloSubscriberHi Thank you very much!
I have another related question. In Transient heat simulation, there is an option to use the heat source as a pulsed function by giving the shutter ON and OFF times. I was wondering if it's possible to use a pulse-train? Maybe it can be done by a script?
Regards
FK
May 19, 2022 at 6:08 pmkghaffariAnsys EmployeeHi No problem! As you suggested multi-pulse shutter is not currently available in CHARGE/HEAT as a feature. You might be able to adjust the pulse width to replicate the effect you are interested in (this can be done in GUI or script) depending on the thermal behavior of your system, e.g. if temperature is non-accumulative or fully accumulative.
Best regards
May 20, 2022 at 9:17 amferruccio.pisanelloSubscriberHi Thanks again. I have one further question.
I am using a temperature monitor (volume) to see the temp profile in a steady state. I have a gold nanoparticle (15 nm height) on a glass substrate (200 um thick). The monitor shows me the structure as a whole block and it's not possible to see see the nanoparticle. I tried using clip volume and it seems to me that the volume of the clip section is in some um so it's not possible to see nm scale particle? Is there a way to change the resolution of the monitor stored data so that it's possible to see the nanoparticle? I think it's possible to use a monitor with a small section of the volume but then the small section around the nanoparticle is at the same temp in steady-state.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
FK
