CONTACT_TIED

Hi everyone. I want to share nodes with each other. Also, I want it to be a bonded condition, not a friction condition. Both are solid elements. What contact conditions can I use? Please help me.

If the two parts do not share nodes and you want to tie them together, please try *contact_tied_nodes_to_surf (or surf_to_surf). *contact_tied_..._to_surface are constraint-based contacts, and nodes from surface A will be projected to master surface (surf B) during initialization. It's best to use segment sets to define surf A and surf B of a TIED contact and to include ONLY the nodes or segments you wish to be tied. In this way, any warnings of untied nodes are actually helpful.

Note that constraint-based tied contacts should not be used in explicit analysis IF there are other constraints (SPCs, prescribed motion, rigid bodies, etc) associated with the slave or master surface. Otherwise, they should be fine. The contacts cards with the word "OFFSET" (unless it says constraints_offset) are all penalty-based contacts. Please see LS-DYNA user's manual for more information.

Thanks for your reply. But I want the two parts to share nodes. Can I still use CONTACT_TIED_NODES_TO_SURF?

If parts share nodes at the boundary, you don't need tied contact. The parts are already connected. If the mesh of both parts coincides at the boundaries, meaning nodes of part 1 and 2 coincide but are different, you can merge the duplicate nodes using LSPP to have shared nodes.

        Hello

I have the same problem: I want to share the nodes for these two parts (blue and red), which options I can use Contact_surface_to_surface or Contact_node_to_surface and what is the difference between them in the results.

Also, I have no idea how to change the settings of this module and what the main settings are(These settings as it shows is by default).
        Thank you in advance.
