SubscriberThe model has shell181 elements and remote point at the end of the H-beam. Has a moment around negative X and a force in negative Z diretion. And contact forces transmitted through the rough contact seems a bit strange to me in Z direction, because they are so high since the contact side has 25823N and when probing on target side 1,5082e5N. The bolts are beam188 with universal joint and frictionless contact between bolthead faces. So the question is why the large difference? Hope anybody has some input.

SubscribernI suggest you use Frictional contact instead of Rough contact. Frictional will better represent the physics of the joint. Rough does not allow any relative motion, so can build up large sliding forces in the joint that would in fact result in slipping of the interface.nDecember 4, 2020 at 10:36 pmAlexanderT
SubscriberYes I agree, but the joint is not intended to be able to transfer the vertical load by friction. The bolt needs to take the this as shear load. So perhaps better to have the bolts as fixed and a frictionless contact to be able to show these forces. But the rough contact was just one way i tried to get the forces going through the joint.
