Constrained Optimisation HFSS

Is there a way to setup an Optometrics study where I can set hard constraints that will not evaluate the solution if the constraint is not met?  I have tried adding my constraint a secondary goal to the cost function and used multi-objective solvers to try and find solution but I feel like I waste a lot of time evaluating models which do not meet my constraint at all. I have also considered using the MATLAB solver, with the fincom function where I can explicitly set equality constraints but I am not entirely comfortable with the variables etc...

What would be the best way to approach this?

      Thank you very much,

      Ivan

A basic level of optimizations can be done using Optimetrics where the goal can be carefully set for the optimization. For more advanced optimizations and more dynamic control on the contraints and the design space, please use Ansys Optislang.

Okay, thank you for you reply.

Do you have any resources/examples where I could learn more about using the MATLAB solver in optometrics studies?

        Thank you,

        Ivan

There is no provision of integrating solvers in optimetrics. If you are planning to make a new workflow of optimization/DOE using other tools in the workflow, you would need to use Optislang as it is the only tool that is capable of Process Integration and Design Optimization. You can set-up your integrated workflow in Ansys Optislang with the desired set of Objectives and constraints. You may log in into the Ansys Learning Hub for learning more on Optislang.
