I have a open section beam, I would like to apply a constant constant rotation 'theta' on one end and '-theta' on the other. I read few other post on using remote point to apply that rotation. However, I am not sure what behavior to use in remote point. Also, I am interested in examing the warping. Currently I am setting all the displacment components to be zero and Just applying a rotation along the direction of its axis?Â

Hi,
Rotation of desired angle can be applied by applying the Remote Displacement boundary condition. You can set one of the rotational dof to desired angle while fixing all other dofs.
Remote displacement will automatically create a remote point to apply the corresonding conditions.
For more information please go to the following link:

Hey,
If you want to know more about the behavior of remote point check out the link below. The behaviour of the remote point depends on what best represents the actual loading.

Thanks
