Confusion in choosing the correct model for combustion analysis.

      Hi there!
      Hope you are doing well.

I'm trying to analyse a combustion chamber of a micro gas turbine engine using kerosene fuel.
Most of the YouTube combustion analysis tutorials are using species transport model, even official ANSYS tutorial videos are using species transport model.

But my question is why they do not use partially premixed combustion model
      itself instead of species?

Q1: if we can use both, then which one is better for analysis of combustion chamber of micro gas turbine engine?

Q2: what are pros and cons of both model?

Q3: how to choose correct model?

if anything, else that I must know and I am missing to ask, kindly please share your views!!!
your every word means to me a lot.

      Thanking you,

      sending positive vibes,
      cheap person

      Hello,

I've not seen any of the videos that you mentioned but I'd suggest you first check if the flow is turbulent. The partially premixed model is for turbulent combustion but the species transport model is general. The accuracy and the computational cost of the species transport depends on the chemical mechanism that is used (varying from one-step global scheme to a very detailed kinetic mechanism).
