SubscriberSince couple days ago, my charge simulations are not initializing. One of the files is attached. Here is the error message:Â
NEDA(process 0): Refinement limit exceeded for auto-refinement. The mesh is valid but may not be adequately refined.
NEDA(process 0): The program terminated due to an error: Initialization failed to converge charge update due to numerical failure. For instructions on how to troubleshoot this issue, please refer to this:Â online reference
NEDA(process 0): Error: there was an unknown parallel error. The error code is 9010, the process number is 0,Â
I tried any possible solution from your forum and this link online reference. I also tried to run on other PCs with higher computational resources. The issue is not resolved.  The weird thing is that all these simulations has been run quite well before. I would appreciate your quick reply.Â

Ansys EmployeeHi Neda Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to download attachments on the forum. If you could please share more information about your project I can comment on potential solutions. Specifically:
┬ÀInformation/Screenshots of your project (general structure, some of the solver and mesh settings, etc.).
┬ÀDo you currently have other versions of your projects that is running? If so, knowing the updates in your new project can be helpful.
┬ÀWhat version of the software are you using? Have you updated the software recently?
Thanks Khashayar

SubscriberHi Khashayar,
Thanks for the quick reply. I updated software few days ago, could it cause the problem?
My simulations include devices with and without back-reflector. It runs properly for simulations without back-reflector but not with back-reflector ones. In back-reflector case there is high generation rate within a thin layer.
I have access to premium support from the license purchased by my university, I emailed my problem with an attached simulation file. But premium support asked me to register and post my request here.
Thanks,
Neda

SubscriberHi Sutan,
I deleted the new version and got back to use the previous version of Lumerical!
Hope this helps,
Neda
