SubscriberHi all,
For my PhD project, I'm working on FSI models of abdominal aortic aneurysms using Ansys Fluent and Mechanical. I recently switched from using Ansys 2020 R1 instead of Ansys 19.2 to be able to use the quasi-Newton stabilization method, which is working very well! However, I'm facing another problem now.
In Ansys 19.2, I was able to adjust the solution sequence, such that System Coupling starts with Fluent instead of Ansys Mechanical. I want to start the FSI model with Fluent, since the pressure of the system is initialized in the first iteration of the Fluent problem. However, I can't find the option to adjust the solution sequence in Ansys 2020R1. I've tried changing the side numbering (see below), such that Fluent is defined as side One and Transient Structural as side Two, but system coupling still starts with Transient Structural.
Does anybody know if it's possible to change the solution sequence?
Thanks in advance!
Judith

Ansys EmployeeHello, nI think along with the order for the Data Transfers, you will also need to check the order of the Coupling Participants. Generally Systems Coupling orders them by default and adds a trailing number like Fluent-1, MAPDL-2 etc. This can be changed in the Coupling Participant sequencing. nAlso check this link for more details.nI hope this helps.nRegards,nSuryanOctober 27, 2020 at 8:39 amjfonken
SubscriberHi Surya,nThanks for your suggestion! I tried changing the Coupling Participant names:nTransient structural was named 'Solution' and is now named 'MAPDL-2'nFluent was named 'Solution 1' and is now named 'FLUENT-1'nFurthermore, I changed the sequence of the sides, such that side 'one' corresponds to 'FLUENT-1' and side 'two' corresponds to 'MAPDL-2'n
However, System Coupling is still starting with Transient Structural instead of Fluent... Do you have any further suggestions?n
Thanks in advance!n
