Hi community,
Â
after a long simulation in which i've extracted all data variables from solution data export(and here, i didn't show any indication about forces) and reports (here i get the forces in time) under the solution panel in CFD post some variables like Force and Strain Rate are "unknown".
The only way i have to extract these forces is to use this expression:Â Air.force_z()@CASE:seed_15_mesh 1 21450 1.seed15 but the results of this is a scalar quantity.
It is possible to extract the values of this force in each point of seed15 surface along a line in a preferential direction ? I would like to plot the force_z distribution over a line.

Hi Alberto,Â
are you running a Fluent or CFX simulation? How are you then transfering results files to CFD post?Â
What do you exactly want to compute in CFD Post? Pressure forces along a line on a surface?
Â
thanks
Luca

Hi, i'm running a fluent simulation.
I've saved from calculation activities all the solutions possibles in cdat format for cfd post, i can load results and visualize pressure, velocity, vorticity etc. What i can't visualize are the forces along the spanwise direction of the body.
I would like to compute fluid forces (pressure and viscosity) per unit length along this spanwise direction, in order to compute the sectional lift coefficient.Â
Â
Thanks
Â
Alberto
