boundary conditions scoping faces

      Hello,

I would like to know what is the effect of applying different boundary conditions to common faces (for instance two different forces that share some faces).

In particular, I receive the following warning

Two or more remote boundary conditions are sharing a common face, edge, or vertex.  This behavior can cause solver overconstraint and is not recommended, please check results carefully. You may select the offending object and/or geometry via RMB on this warning in the Messages window.

Does it mean that the magnitude of the force will be summed up?

Should I consider different faces to be scoped by a boundary condition?

      Thanks for your attention.

      Hi,
Maybe that error is preventive, in the sense that it could not affect the simulation, or it could affect it for instance if you have 2 displacements that are nor coherent (i.e. displacements -3 mm and 0 mm in the z direction).
Dont know how program behaves in a situation of conflicting BC, maybe it ignores one of them or maybe it crashes.
But those are alot of maybes, sorry

The warning is for "remote boundary" conditions. Are you using any Remote Displacements or Remote Forces?
If you want to do two remote B.C.s on the same face, just apply the first one, and Promote to Remote Point. Then apply the second remote BC, but scope it to the first Remote Point created in the first BC instead of scoping to the same face. That will eliminate the warning.
