How to give beam connection for tapered headed bolt?Â
Is the process same? First imprint the head of th bolt surface? but if there is tap hole, then what is the second surface is to be selected for beam?Â

The bolt pretension feature is intended for bolts which have a nut on each end and a free span through two flanges. It might be possible to use it for other cases, but it won't be as correct. The way we create the pretension is to cut the beam in two at the center of the free span and apply forces to the cut ends. Then in a second load step we lock in the preload with constraints that preserve the relative position of the cut ends. Could you describe what you mean by a "tapered headed bolt," and provide an image?

Actually I am not talking about pre tension here. I just want to transfer the load without pre tension. If I am sure that bolts would not be damaged (Also if plates wont come out with the bolts) with the pretension , I can opt for beam connection without pretension , right ?

Yes, you don't need to use bolt pretension. You can just create beam connections. It sounds like the issue will be what faces you scope the beam connections to. Â

Why would it be an issue? If there is a washer area imprint on two plates, then those imprints can be scoped, correct ?
