I need to model a series of composite bodies with shell elements with "layered section".
So I converted all the solid bodies into surfaces with SpaceClaim, and extended the surfaces to bring them in contact. In Ansys Workbench, being all different bodies, I have to create the contacts so that there is continuity of the movements, and no body is labile. Although I have set the Connection Group properties to define Face-Edge and Edge-Edge contacts, auto-detection only defines Face-Face contacts. Also, most of these contacts are also wrong because they bind together complanar surfaces that in reality are separated by a surface to them orthogonal, so I should have two Edge-Face contacts rather than the Face-Face contact.Do you have any advice on what to pay attention to so that these contacts are properly self-defined? I would not want to start creating them by hand, one by one....

See if changing the options under connection group helps. You can change the option, then right click ad genetrate automatic connections.
Check the "priority" option and see if it helps
Â
You can try edge overrides for priority.
If the entities are within the toelrance/slider value, contact region is created. You can limit contact search to a few bodies if it helps with geometry scoping.
You can use multiple connection group with different scoping to create the contacts. If it doesnt help, you may have to create manual contact regions
