We recently received licenses from ANSYS/LSTC for LS-Dyna. However, we're encountering an issue with the license not functioning on our machines. The error message "** Error License Keys" keeps appearing. We've installed the SMP R10 version, which is the option for our models with specific requirements. However, it seems that the license provided by LSTC only includes MPP and does not cover SMP. The license details are as follows: MPPDYNA, MPPDYNA_971, MPPDYNA_970, MPPDYNA_960, LS-DYNA, LS-DYNA_971, LS-DYNA_970, LS-DYNA_960. We've contacted LSTC to regenerate new licenses that include the SMP version, and we've also requested a network license. However, we're still awaiting their response. Has anyone experienced a similar issue and can provide us with some suggestions or advice? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Will,
Here is the error message that you are getting:
"License problem Local license ***Â Â Error Bad license keys!"
You should not get the "Local license" message becaus we don't issue local licenses anymore. All LSTC licenses are "network" (server) licenses.
Make sure the following environment variables are set on the client machine:
LSTC_LICENSE=network
LSTC_LICENSE_SERVER=31010@hostname_or_IP_address_of_license_server
Â
The error "Bad license keys!" mean one of the following:
- the license file has been modified with a text editor.
- your email system modified the attachment (license file).
- You are using an old version of the LSTC license manager.

Hello Will,
Note that the following increment in the license file allows you to run SMP R10:
Â
Make sure you use the license file that was sent to you without modification.
You could also ask your Ansys account manager to send you the license file via SecureTransfer. This way, your email system won't modify the file.
Â
Let me know how it goes.

Hello Will,
You will need to sign an LCF form (License Change Form) before we can issue a new license key for a new license server. Please contact your Ansys Account Manager.
You will have to provide the current license servers license files along with the new license server LSTC_SERVER_INFO file. You can get this file using the LSTC License Manager. Here is the procedure for Windows:
https://ftp.lstc.com/user/license/License-Manager/LS-DYNA%20Win%20License%20Server%20installation%20and%20update%20Aug%2026_2.pdf

Password: computer
Â
Note that Ansys technical support does not issue new licenses nor do license server changes. You have to contact your Ansys account manager.
