      Hi,

      after dowloading the student version upon opening it gives error message 

      Unexpected error: root element is missing

      Please assist

      Hi Sipho,

      Did you install the setup.exe as admin?

      Can you please type %appdata% in the start menu and rename the Ansys folder to Ansys.old or else please uninstall the application with admin rights, then delete the Ansys folder(%appdata%) and install again.
