Hello there!

I'm just here to give some feedback which is really annoying.

I recently upgraded from ANSYS 19.1 to 19.2 and got surprised that Fluent window keeps poping up every time it has a message/warning/etc.

I'm simulating a quiet long transient flow and I need to save as many .cas, dat, other reportable file as possible. As I stated it takes some hours to end the calculation but in the meantime I wanted to do some other work too (e.g. writing reports or just watch some video), but every time Fluent saves files, its window becomes active, pops over everything.

I understand that it's a complex program, it has and will have bugs, but nothing we can handle. But this one makes my computer useless during any simulation.

Please look after this issue.

Are you running Fluent in WorkBench or as a standalone run? If I understand the issue, Fluent window pops open every time it is attempting to save and write .cas and .dat files. Please let me know and I can test this at my end and get back to you with comments.

I run it in Workbench. Thankfully Fluent not just attempt to save but save them too.

I think not the saving procedure is the problem. It happens every time Fluent opens a new message like the "Calculation complete", etc.

I'm using the Student version.

Tomorrow I try to create a short video about what I'm experiencing, maybe that helps.

Actually, you are right about this. I misunderstood your question earlier. I thought you were noticing that Fluent was showing pop-ups every time it would save. 

Fluent does show up when calculation is completed. It is a way of notifying the user that Fluent has completed the calculation. I tested this on 19.1 and it seems to be doing the same on 19.1 as well. 

Are you seeing anything quite different for this?

Hello again

At the end of calculation it would be okay to pops over other windows, but it happens every occasion when it wants to tell me something. (to be clear, I had to rewrite the last 3 word, because Fluent sent a message about saving case file and it poped over the browser)

This is also happening with me. I am running a student version 19.2, standalone mode. At every time step that Fluent is saving .dat file a pop-up window appear, even if the Fluent window is minimized.

That is quite annoying when I am doing something else on the computer, such as reading something. Also, it is easy to click on "cancel" at the pop-up when we are using the computer for another work.

Is there any mode to prevent Fluent to keep showing this pop-up at every saving time-step?

Perhaps a way to disable focus stealing might help.

I have tried this already, but I did not find any option for disable focus stealing.

I can report the same behavior and this is by design. Disable focus stealing might help. The latter might be however OS limited. I will check internally and do some home work.

Messages like saving case and data files are not showing to me if I am using the most actual release. Perhaps you all give it a try as soon as it is released as student Version.

Please download the latest release. You should not be seeing pop-ups like the above in the latest version.
