how can you set multiple initial temperatures in ansys discovery for a time dependant simulation. there are some faces that I want to start at a temperature of 200 C, then the rest at 22 C. when I use the boundary conditions provided, they have only constant temeprature or heat over time, but no initial initial.Â
thanks in advance!

Hello Arden,Â
That initial temperature is default for the faces which does not have any condition defined. If you want to set different temperature on to specific face use the Temperature BCs from thermal conditions as shown below:
Similarly for fluid inlet faces you can define the temperature for fluids.Â

hey, thanks for the response!
when i use the temperature BC from a thermal analysis and i use a time dependant analysis, the BC maintains that temperature on the face. only trouble with that is I would actually just like the face to start at that temperature as an initial condition, then start cooling. for instance a 200 C temperature face while all other faces are 20 C initially to simulate the heat loss over time.
this maintains the temperature the whole time.

Hello Arden,Â
For what I understand, you are trying to set Temperature Vs Time. Such option is not possible yet.Â
You can define constant value for temperature on faces, and then start time depedent analysis. Specify the time duration else the analysis will go on until stopped.Â
Thanks,Â
Devendra
