ANSYS AQWA – Simple Floating Sphere – Errors

      Hello,

I am trying to simulate a sphere that is floating on the surface of the water. However, when I go to solve the simulation in the hydrodynamic diffraction module, I get the error: "LIDGEN:MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ELEMENTS EXCEEDEDDURING INTERNAL LID GENERATION." "LIDMES:FAILED TO CREATE INTERIOR LID FOR STRUCTURE#1 ; IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO USE SMALLER LID_SIZE." "READING DECK 2:EXTERNAL GROUP NUMBER 40 HAS NO VALID ELEMENTS." "MATERIAL GROUP# 98000 FOR STRUCTURE # 1 DOES NOT EXIST." "GEOMETRY GROUP# 98000 FOR STRUCTURE # 1 DOES NOT EXIST.". I have tried lid element size of 0.001 m through 5 m and none of them seem to work. I have also attached an image of the errors and the project files here. Any help is very appreciated. Thank you!

Could you please describe more on your model, where you are using the internal lid in your sphere?

It is just a sphere that is supposed to be floating on water. I have attached an image. I was under the impression that I should use an internal lid if my structure breaks the surface of the water.

      Thank you for your help.

Slice the geometry where it coincides with the water surface. An internal lid is not required. Model Cg accurately. Check hydrostatic values first.
