I installed the official Ansys Electronics Desktop Student 2025 R2.1 package on Windows 11 Home 25H2 (build 26200.9168).

The installer and the EM_config.py configuration now complete successfully without warnings. The application launches from:

C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv252AnsysEMansysedtsv.exe

However, whenever I insert a new HFSS design, I receive this licensing error:

No such feature exists.
Feature: hfss_gui
FlexNet Licensing error: -5,357

The licence path shown in the error is a generated folder under %LOCALAPPDATA%Temp. I have restarted Windows, rerun the configuration successfully, and completed an in-place reinstall using the official installer, but the same error remains.

The About window confirms “Ansys Electromagnetics Student 2025 R2” and “Ansys Common Licensing.” Please confirm whether the Student licence package is missing the hfss_gui feature and provide the official repair procedure or corrected licence package. HFSS is required urgently for my academic project.

Update after further licence diagnostics:

 

The AEDT licence-debug log shows that the primary failure is:

 

DENIED: electronics3d_gui

Feature has expired.

FlexNet Licensing error: -10,32

 

The hfss_gui error -5,357 appears afterward as a secondary fallback error.

 

I confirmed that ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE, ANSYSLI_SERVERS, LM_LICENSE_FILE, and ANS_FLEXLM_DISABLE_DEFLICPATH are not defined. There is also no ansyslmd.ini file under C:Program FilesANSYS Inc.

 

I downloaded the current official AEDT Student 2025 R2 package from the page stating that its built-in licence is valid until 07/31/27. I extracted it into a new folder, ran setup as administrator, restarted Windows, and confirmed that installation and EM_config.py completed successfully. However, HFSS still reports the expired electronics3d_gui feature.

 

Please provide the official procedure for replacing the expired embedded Student licence or completely removing the retained expired licence files before

 reinstalling.
