ANSYS DED process DWELL time for each layer.
I am trying to add dwell waiting time for each layer in DED process in Workbench 2022 R2. I have added the G4 command with multiple syntaxes (attached) but it seems that it is not being read and applied by the software. I also cchecked the dwell time to yes and selected the commands to be G4, G04 on the software (attached). The simulation is run but the final results is the same as running without the dwell time (the total time is the same). I would appreciate it if you can tell me how we can set waiting dwell time for each layer.Regards

I am not sure how to interpret your GCODE definition of dwell time. Since it seems to be ignored, try as alternative, defining dwell time via AMBUILD command, in a command object under the environment branch.
AMBUILD,time,'val1'
Where 'val1' is your intended inter-ayer dwell time.

Hello John and thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, I cannot find the environment branch and any command object. I know that I can add commands to the Workbench but I do not know where to add the command. I would appreciate it if you give me more details about the procedure to do it.
Also, I don't understand why my G code does not work. Do you have any suggestions on how to make it work? The g code G4 X20.0 should add a 20-second dwell time but it doesn't work. Also, I tried other syntaxes but none of them works.
Regards
Mostafa

Below is the documentation for AMBUILD. If you open the "ds.dat" file in your solver directory, perhaps this command is overriding your G-Code.  If you add "AMBUILD,time,val1", consistent with this doc,in a command object under Environment Branch, it should override this default. It should be executed right before the solve.
