SubscriberHi,
I was trying to enable adaptive meshing on a certain region of my 2D shell part with plane strain element type (elform=13). I used *CONTROL_ADAPTIVE and *CONTROL_2D_REMESHING_REGION by defining a box/shell. However the job always terminated without giving errors at the remeshing step (adpfreq).
Everything worked fine when I applied adaptive meshing to the entire part without using *CONTROL_2D_REMESHING_REGION. Can anyone help to figure out what happened on this issue? Thanks in advance!

Ansys EmployeeHi,
I'm not entirely sure what the issue could be, as I have tested this on our side using our benchmark models. Setting LTYP to 1,7 worked fine for us. Below is the configuration we used:
In CONTROL_ADAPTIVE, it is necessary to set ADPTYP=8 and appropriately tune the ADPFREQ and ADPTOL parameters. This should be followed by the definition of CONTROL_2D_REMESHING_REGION.
For improved traceability and to assist further, I recommend trying with a newer version of the solver, which should provide more detailed, verbose output from the solver.
Cheers, Ram
