SubscriberHello,
I created a material for a dry twill weave carbon fiber fabric. The output for my draping simulation is the maximum shear angle which is 38.646 for the material data below.

Ansys EmployeenPlease check this help section on the draping procedure.nhttps://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v202/en/acp_ug/acp_energy_algorithm.htmlnEffectively, the draping mesh is only based on the geometry. The shear stiffness cancels out when determining the draping angle of a draping cell. You can find other draping algorithms in literature and in other tools. This is the only one in ACP.n nYour observation is correct. The material properties do not influence the maximum shear angle in the draping simulation.nViewing 1 reply thread- The topic ‘ACP: Why does the material not matter in a draping simulation?’ is closed to new replies.
