SubscriberHello everyone!
I am now simulating natural heat transfer with radiation effect. The heat is transferred from the heating surface to the surrounding fluid by convection and radiation. For the radiation parameters we know an emissivity of the heating surface and an absorption coefficient of the fluid. I am newbie in this field so please help me to choose an appropriate Radiation model for this case. Is the radiation model P1 appropriate? What are the steps to implement this Model in Fluent? Do we need UDF file?
Thank you so much!

Ansys EmployeeIs it a non-absorbing medium your fluid (like air). If yes I will use S2S.nIn general I prefer using MC or DO for the wide range of optical thickness. nOctober 30, 2020 at 8:48 amVan Toan Nguyen
SubscriberIn my case. The heat is transferred from the heating surface and the fluid absorbs the heat energy.nOctober 30, 2020 at 9:32 amDrAmine
Ansys EmployeeCan you tell us what is it for fluid?nThen easy to use MC or DO our both flagship RTE ModelsnOctober 31, 2020 at 7:00 amVan Toan Nguyen
SubscriberYes. The fluid is vapor water. Is there any tutorial for this kind of Radiation model in Fluent? nViewing 4 reply threads- The topic ‘About Radiation Model P1 !’ is closed to new replies.
