SubscriberHi all,
I am trying to transfer the results of the an Abaqus analysis to Ls-Dyna and continue my analysis in Ls-Dyna (initial stress-stress-deformed shape etc.. will be the output of the Abaqus results). I was wondering if there is a way of doing that?
Thanks

Ansys EmployeeHi
ODB result files can not been opened/used in LS-Dyna.
LS Pre Post can though import to a certain extent abaqus .inp file which are text files.
All the best

SubscriberThank you very much Erik, is there a way to transfer Abaqus output so that Ls-Dyna could import and read? I have tried Nastran but I guess it accepts the undeformed model (the job file (.inp)) file but not the output one
Thank you very much once again

SubscriberIf it is just the deformed shape, then all you need to do is export the mesh (using the Python API that comes baked in with the Abaqus/Viewer, perhaps), do some basic manipulation of the text file so that it can be read by LS-DYNA.
On the other hand, if you are thinking of consuming stress/strain/.. fields from one solver to another, chances are you are better off switching straight to Dyna and doing it all in one code. Otherwise, it is going to be a non-trivial undertaking.
