SubscriberI am a begineer in Ansys Simulation and I am trying to simulate a welding process via "temper bead" technique. I Would like to understand how to proceed to implement this work in ansys (step by step in Space claim , Mechanics etc.)

Ansys EmployeeA first small step for someone new to Ansys would be to model a plate and a single body representing the first weld bead. The weld bead would be given an elevated reference temperature such as 2000 degF (MP,REFT). That would produce residual stresses. The metallurgical changes in the weld beads caused by being overlayed by additional weld beads can't be captured in any type of Ansys/Mechanical analysis.
