SubscriberGood evening, i am doing the simulation about this tapered cantilever beam under a harmonic force excitation, i have facing some problems which is insert the lumped mass and sinusoidal force at the middle of the beam. I using ansys modal and harmonic response analysis 19.2 version. I also need to find the Dynamic deflections of this cantilever beam. May I know how can i set up this design in ansys?

Assume the beam is L = 2.0 m long, and has a circular cross-section of diameter D = 5.0 cm. The Young’s modulus of the material is
E = 70 GPa, and mass density ρ = 2800 kg/m3. The viscoelastic supports have the same translational stiffness ks = 50 kN/m and damping coefficient cs = 0.1 N•s/m. -

Ansys EmployeeHi Yap Zi,
I believe most of your questions will be addressed if you consider watching the following two lessons on harmonic analysis:
Correctly Interpreting Harmonic Results - Lesson 2 - ANSYS Innovation Courses
Performing Mode Superposition Harmonic Analysis - Lesson 1 - ANSYS Innovation Courses

SubscriberHi Armin,
I have watched two lessons video, but i still have confusing on the viscoelastic support and the lumped mass settings, may you help me on these parts? Thank you
