3ph Wound rotor induction motor maxwell 2D

      Helloo,

i am currently having trouble simulating a wound rotor induction motor, i tried Rmxprt but it can only do a wind generator wound rotor and not a motor with a Y wounded rotor and Y stator. So i tried to creat it with maxwell wizard and got incoherent results. so question is it even possible to have 2 Y circuits in maxwell or  it's not possible. If so how can i do it. Thank you. you'll find a diagram of the motor and the error i get when trying to creat two Y connections.

      Hello Mahfoud,

We can change the excitation type to external and create a external ckt (MaxCkt). It will create windings. We need to connect winding resistance and end winding leakage inductance in series with the windings. Here we can connect stator and rotor in Y (star) connection. You can follow the below steps to create external ckt.

      1. Change the excitation type to external for all windings.
      2. Right click on Excitations>External circuit>Edit external ckt. below window will open. Click on create circiut.

      3. Maxwell circuit will create. Connect the circuit as per your requirement.

      4. Export the circuit. steps given below.

      5. Right click on Maxwell Circuit >Export Netlist. save in some folder.

6.Right click on Excitations>External circuit>Edit external ckt. Click on Import circuit Netlist and select the circuit where you saved.

      7. Run the simulation in Maxwell.

Hope this explaination will help you.

      Thank you,

      Harinath Vudumula.

Hello again, thank you for your response. I managed to figure it out but i still have somei issues which i can't find examples for. Such as the phase between the Voltage sources, i did 0 degrees for PhaseA, 120 for B and 240 for C and i don't know if it's correct also i have attached the circuit i have been using to creat an excitation just for the stator in an induction motor just to test it out i would like your feed back on it what am i missing to replicate the excitation from rmxprt.

        Thanks in advance

      Hello Mahfoud,

The connection is fine, but can you please connect -ve terminals of sources to single ground. Please check the phase voltage magnitude and frequency.

      Thank you,

      Harinath Vudumula.
