2024R2 Fluent Meshing Mode

      Good day anyone.

Please I have been having troubles starting Fluent in "Meshing Mode". The "meshing" option does not seem to appear in the top left in mine as written in the tutorial. Attached is an image of what I have from my end.

Please, could I kindly use any help?

      Thank you.

Where did you launch Fluent from?

I launched Fluent from Workbench, under "Component System", in the left pane of the interface, Sir.

And to add, one of the few things that annoys me is finding the same question in two or more threads. Don't.

Alright, Sir. I'm so sorry about that. My appologies, Sir.

I can't send a reply in the other thread, by the way.

I closed the other thread to avoid any further confusion. Not a problem, but please don't do it again.

Ah, try launching Fluent from the Start menu. WB Fluent workflow/component cells are hard coded for certain functions: there is one for Fluent Meshing but you're generally better off not launching WB in most cases.

That's okay. My appologies once again, Sir.

Ohhh, I see. I was making use of workbench as the initial interface software for geometry, mesh, etc..

I have been searching for Fluent since then, but this is all I got from my start menu. I downloaded the whole software from Ansys website. I'm surprised Fluent is not here.

That's an odd looking download, below is from my work PC.  Were there any installation issues?

No sir. There were no issues during installation. I'm so surprised

That's not the installed folder. Did you extract the zip file before installing as Admin?

Yes, I extracted the zip file before installing as Admin, Sir.

This is the working directory it was downloaded into, then I extracted the file.

This is the content of the folder above, Sir

And then ran the Setup.exe as Admin?

        Yes Sir. I did.

Can you check the following file:
      C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\install.log

Does it contain any errors for the 2024 R2 installation?

      Also, try the following:
      Run:

      Start->Programs->Ansys 2024 R2-> Product & CAD Configuration 2024 R2 (Right-click and choose Run as Administrator)

      Choose Unconfigure Products and CADs
      Select All.

      When Finished, then choose:
      Configure Products and CADs
      Select all

After that is finished, check to see if Fluent is listed.

For the first, I got this. Didn't got to the "install.log" folder directly because I'm using the student version.

So opening the "ANSYS Student" folder, I got this, Sir.

I just finished the second, and everything seems to be the same, Sir.

I restarted my PC after that, and everything seem to be the same. Nothing changed, Sir.

Is the OS set to English?

      Open the install.log using notepad.
The last file in the image you sent.

Do you see any errors listed in that file.

If you open a dos command prompt and run the following:
      ”C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\ANSYS Student\v242\fluent\ntbin\win64\fluent.exe” -r24.2.0 -shortcut
Does it open the Fluent launcher as seen below

If running from Workbench Component Systems, are you choosing:
      Fluent(with Fluent Meshing)

Yes Sir. My PC's OS is set to English

This is the last few lines of the install.log file (the last file from the image you referenced), there seem to be some errors in it

The error file, I believe, is the "install" file before the last, from the image I sent earlier which you referenced. I opened the error file and saw these:

When I ran this, ”C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\ANSYS Student\v242\fluent\ntbin\win64\fluent.exe”, it opened the Fluent launcher on my PC.

        Thank you, Mr. George.

When running from Workbench Component Systems, I use "Fluent" most times and "Fluent(with Fluent Meshing)" sometimes.

Thank you so much, Mr. George. This helped alot.

Please, how do you kindly suggest I go about the error files and the likes?

      Hello Chidera,

It looks like something may have blocked the tcl scripts from running correctly or

there is some environment variable that interferres with installation.

If you open a DOS command Prompt and type in the following, what is reurned?

      set
