None of the above was able to resolve this issue. Changing the temp folder did not change any of the behavior, and the logs look the same. Manually installing the prereqs didn't cause any changes, and I tried both a .bat file and a vbs script and using the appropriate arguments to run as administrator and those did not help either. All of the log files look the same and there still isn't a .err file in c:\program files\ansys
