I added *CONTACT_SPG card to my simulation using the keyword snippet as you advised, but crushed parts are still penetrated when I use penalty factor = 1.0 (see figures below). As I understand the penalty factor is the fraction of material elastic modulus, right? A good picture I can obtain only when I use penalty factor = 1000 but in that case the initial stress inside the SPG body becomes very high. If I set penalty factor = 1e06 my sample crushes at the very beginning of the simulation. Therefore I still don't understand what is an appropriate value for penalty factor and how to adjust it?
